The Mizuno Widec II iron set is designed for golfers seeking maximum forgiveness and an easy ball flight. This set dates from the early 2000s and was specifically developed to make the game more accessible for beginners and higher handicappers.
Thanks to the deep cavity back design, weight is distributed as much as possible to the perimeter of the clubhead. This keeps the clubface stable at impact and helps maintain more direction and distance on off-center hits.
Additionally, extra mass is placed low in the clubhead, creating a low center of gravity. This helps to launch the ball higher more easily and ensures a consistent, high ball flight, which many beginning golfers benefit from.
